Can I get a Marriage on the Rocks, Please!!

For the last month I have heard very few things about marriage in a positive light. It's actually pretty disgusting how much negative junk is out there right now. Not only in my little ol' town - but it's spread from sea to shining sea it seems. I have seen different things on different blogs about marriage and I thought I would join with the masses and help usher in a few positive words on marriage. Care to join me??

All you have to do is leave a comment on 5 things that you absolutely LOVE about your spouse. That's all. I promise that this won't hurt too badly. I think it would be amazing to find at least 3 other people who actually love the person that they promised to "til death do them part."

I recently found (as in 10 minutes before posting this comment) a really great blog - and the author was also talking about marriage - go check this out for me. I know you'll enjoy it as much as I have.

But before you scamper off to do this you should really consider saying what it is that you just adore about your Mr. or Mrs. 5 things - that's all. But please don't be shy on my account - you can leave more if you want to!!

~ My Five about My Mr. ~

1. Goal-Oriented: If he has a task at hand - it WILL get done!!
2. Gift Giver: He lavishes gifts of love and praise on me ALL the time....I LOVE it!!
3. Sweet Smile: I love to see that man's smile.
4. Protector: He seems to know just the right time to pull me close or hold my hand - that perfect time to make me feel secure.
5. Worshiper: There is hardly 10 minutes throughout his day when he isn't singing a worship song to the Lord - I love that he isn't afraid to belt out a great song - it's also awesome that he has the voice to go along!!

Your Turn!!

Hey neighbor! Glad I stumbled upon your blog. I love the idea you have, so I will be glad to be the first to post!

Five Things I Love About My Spouse

1. His strength. He can do anything he puts his mind to. He is spiritually, physically and emotionally strong.

2. His laugh. I love the way he makes me laugh. When he laughs, his eyes sparkle. It is very contagious!

3. He is an awesome father. He has always taken an interest in the kids. I love watching him throw the football in the front yard with Chase (still!), I love the way he would read to the kids when they were little. I love the way he melts when Madie is around.

4. He is a wonderful provider and hard worker. He works so hard to provide for our family. When he is not working, he is washing our vehicles, mowing the yard, doing things around the house. I love that he doesn't just sit in front of the television all the time!

5. He is my best friend. We have been together 20 years and I love that I can tell him anything. He is my best friend and I can depend on him. He loves me, my children, my family and most importantly, he loves the Lord!

Wow...that felt so good to praise my husband! Thanks Amy!

5 Things I love about my Mrs...

1) I love the fact that she loves just being her. She doesn't try to be anyone other than herself.

2) I love the fact that she goes out of her way to see that she meets my needs. She honestly put me about herself, making me want to do the same to her.

3) I love the fact that she has a tender heart. She teaches me a lot about compassion when I'm a little rough around the edges.

4) I love the fact that she puts God before me and her children.

5) I love the fact that she takes pride in being a mom. She handles that roll well :)

I LOVE this and I love to BRAG on my man, so here goes!

1.) He has a gentle and kind spirit. Richard is very laid back and doesn't say much, but when he does speak, people tend to listen.

2.) He supports me no matter what! Even if he thinks I'm maybe not exactly right, he NEVER says that in public. He supports and agrees with me and then he tells me in private, in a very kind way what he thinks.

3.) He has FAITH, y'all! Throughout all of our infertility struggles, he has been my rock and a constant reminder that God is in control and this WILL happen in His time.

4.) Richard loves me for all that I am, even with all of my faults and all of the things I don't like about myself, he loves me and he tells me that all the time!

5.) He LOVES the Lord and tries to live his life following His instruction. That is so sexy to me! When we first met I was in the very early stages of grieving a LONG relationship that had just ended...instead of being jealous or threatened by my grief, he just listened and hunted scripture and that was when I truly started to fall in love with him!

Thanks for doing this, Amy! I'd love to get to know you better!
