It's A New Day!!

I have found a new fling that I'm in LOVE with!! My Mr. is quite excited about it, too!! Her name is the FlyLady and she's fabulous!! You need to go check her out here. Trust me it will be worth your time. If you've already heard about her, and worked with her routines then you'll know what a friend she becomes. Today is my first day to fully jump into what she asks, and already here's what I've accomplished since 9:30 AM this morning:

- Dusted entire house
- Vacuumed entire house
- Swept & Mopped
- Bathrooms cleaned
- 3 loads of laundry done
- Changed Zoe's bedding, washed & remade her bed
- Zoe's toys sorted, organized and gone through - even filling a trash bag full for a garage sale!!
- Zoe's room rearranged and transformed into a "Big Girl Room" (sniff sniff)
- Front & Back door cleaned
- Lunch cooked, cleaned & put away

That's a lot of stuff in just a few hours and amazingly enough I'm not exhausted!! By the way it's only 3:00 PM now!! And I took an hour break to each lunch with Zach & Zoe. Awesome huh!!

The way she outlines your day makes much more sense than spending an ENTIRE day, like I use to, cleaning like a mad woman!!

The FlyLady has different routines so basically your house cleans itself. For instance, each time after using your sink, wipe it down and make it shine. This is something my Mom instilled in me from an early age, so I did it anyway, but now that I do it after each use, my kitchen looks so much cleaner. Also, each morning first thing get dressed to shoes, including hair & make-up, so you're ready for anything your day brings. And also, each morning after I'm finished getting ready you do a quick wipe down of your bathroom counter & toilet. When your kitchen & bathroom are clean, its ok when someone makes a surprise appearance at your front door.

I love it!! I'm really excited about seeing how much can be done and how easily it will happen this week!! Check her out, it's totally worth it!!

I'm off now to organize and throw away stuff under my bathroom cabinet. Right now, it's like a horror movie took place behind those doors. But not for long!! :)

it exhausted me just to read your blog post!! Honestly, I couldn't keep up with you or fly lady for one day. But those are great skills that we need to instill in our kids. Start with Zoe now. One year I made Ciara a cleaning caddy of her own, put her name on it with stickers and decorated it. Put in some wipees, paper towels, and a tiny little broom and dust pan and some vinegar-water in a spray bottle so she could spray and wipe and clean. It didn't go over like I hoped, but she is still using it when I make her!! I got all the stuff at dollar tree really cheap. You truly amaze me!!
